Objective To explore the clinical effect of early repair of traumatic skull combined with ventricle peritoneal shunt in the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Methods Thirty cases of patients with traumatic brain injury in our hospital from June 2013 to June 2016 were selected as the research objects, which were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 15 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with early repair of traumatic skull combined with ventricle peritoneal shunt, while the control group was treated with ventricle peritoneal shunt until 3-6 months later with cranioplasty. After operation, the prognosis of the two groups were compared. Results There were 11 cases excellent, 3 cases good, 1 case poor in the observation group, and the excellent and good rate of the observation group was 93.33%. There were 5 cases excellent, 4 cases good, 6 cases poor in the control group, and the excellent and good rate of the control group was 60.00%. The excellent and good rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P〈0.05). There were 3 cases died in the control group, but no death case in the observation group. Conclusion For patients with traumatic brain injury, the early repair of traumatic skull combined with ventricle peritoneal shunt can significantly improve the neurological and mental disorders, improve the quality of life of patients, reduce the burden on their families, which is worth popularization and application in clinical.
