摘要
通过阅读习得词汇是EFL学习者提高词汇量的一种重要方式,而生词比例对词汇习得的效果有重大影响。本研究通过实验的方法探索不同生词比例的阅读材料与词汇习得效率间的关系,结果显示,生词比例为4%的阅读材料最有利于词汇习得,2%的阅读材料长时词汇习得效果好于6%的阅读材料,由此得出结论,2%~4%的生词比例最有利于促进通过阅读的词汇习得,希望能为EFL学习者在挑选读物时提供参考。
Vocabulary acquisition through reading is an important way to improve vocabulary for EFL learners, which is significantly impacted by the percentage of new words. This study focuses on how the percentage of new words effects the efficiency of vocabulary acquisition through reading. We can learn that, when the percentage of new words is 4%, it would produce the highest efficiency of vocabulary acquisition. And when the percentage is 2%, it would produce a higher efficiency of vocabulary acquisition in the long run than at 6%. So for a high-efficiency vocabulary acquisition through reading, the EFL learners had better to select study materials with new words at the percentage of 2% to 4%.
