The monetary system in Liao Dynasty consists of three systems： the ordinary self-casting metal currency, the foreign common metal currency and Other general equivalents. The monetary system stability is ensured in the Liao Dynasty through guaranteeing raw material supply, setting up various types of management agencies, strictly standardizing shape in production and preventing monetary outflows and other means.
