Objective To investigate the effect of body mass index ( BMI ) on the healing of limb fractures. Methods 320 patients with open reduction and internal fixation of limb closed fractures between March 2013 and March 2016 were divided into ideal group, overweight group and obese group according to BMI. The body temperature, Line time, antibiotic use time, postoperative hemogram index and incision infection rate and other statistical were studied. Results There were no statistically significant differences in sex, age, fracture type, operation time and operation time among the three groups ( P〉0.05 ) . There was no significant difference between the ideal group and the other two groups ( P〉0.05 ) . There was no significant difference between the overweight group and the obese group in blood parameters ( P〉0.05 ) , and the differences of the other indexes were statistical significance ( P〈0.05 ) . Conclusions BMI has a certain effect on the healing of incision of closed limb fracture. BMI higher patients, surgical incision healing more slowly and the higher the infection rate.
