摘要
赛珍珠创作的《大地》以皖北农村为背景,用史诗般的笔触保留了最原始的农村民俗生态。以生子习俗为例,作者记述了从产前准备、分娩过程到产后庆贺的各种礼俗仪式,描述细致入微。这些民俗事象在皖北大地上传承千年并不断变异,是民众集体心理意识的最佳映射和皖北大地的集体文化沉淀,再现了民众真实生存方式,还原了一帧皖北农村原生态生活画卷。
The Good Earth by Pearl Buck is set in the rural areas of Northern Anhui Province in China which portrays the most original folk customs of rural areas by her epical writing. Taking the customs of delivery for instance, the author narrates the various customs and rituals of preparation before the birth, the delivery and the celebration for the new-born baby from her careful observation. Those folk conventions have been inherited and varied for thousands of years in Northern Anbui Province, which can reflect the collective mental consciousness of their inhabitants and collective cultural precipitation of Northern Anhui Province, also reproduce the authentic life style of that time and restore a painting of original life styles in Northern Anhui Province.
