In this novel, Chinua Achebe reflects African society and the political reality before and during eohonial period by describingthe life of Nigerians. As a tragic hero in this novel, Ogonkwo＇ s events reflect traditional lgbo culture. Ahhough it can＇ t get rid of it＇ s self-limitation, it contains good traditional values about life and national heroic spirit.
