After bearing a cold reception for nearly half a century,＂Stoner＂has regained popularity in recent years.The reason behind this extraordinary literary phenomenon lies in the protagonist of the novel.In contrast to the traditional heroes in the American literature,Stoner has lived a seemingly mundane life.However,his persistent pursuit of literature and love,his courageous defense against academic corruption,and his endurance in the face of frustrations all strongly testify that Stoner is an atypical real hero.
