摘要
文章应用空间理论从性别、种族空间两方面对多丽丝·莱辛的小说《野草在歌唱》中的主人公玛丽的生存困境进行解读,探究了在父权社会划分好的性别空间和白人与黑人对立的种族空间里玛丽一步步丧失女性主体性的缘由,并且对女性主体性的缺失进行反思。女性想不蹈玛丽悲剧之辙,必须要有独立的自我意识,在社会公共空间和私人空间里正确认识自己的价值并勇于打破空间格局,实现独立自主的女性主体性。
This paper is intended to analyze the dilemma of the heroine Mary from two aspects——sexual space and racial space——based on the Space Theory. It explores the causes of the gradual absence of Mary＇s female subjectivity in the sexual space divided by the patriarchal society and the racial space. It also contemplates on the absence of female subjectivity and points out that women should develop independent self-awareness,evaluate their own values in a right way either in the social public space or in the private space,breaking the space confinement and finally realizing the independent female subjectivity.
