Japanese villages' shrine ritual activities are more concentrated in spring and autumn. "YASA Ritu- al" is an important part of a great sacrifice in Gunma Prefecture Tone District Minakami small Kawashima in every autumn. It is also the "Odd Ritual" and"Naked Ritual" in that region and even in the whole country. However, compared with the other so- called "Naked Ritual", its specialty is greatly highlighted. Combining both text mate- rials and field survey, this paper points out that only through starting from Kawashima's special geographical and historical experiences can we better understand this ritual. In this process, we also have a preliminary understand- ing of the significance of text information for folk society and researchers.
