摘要
在晚清人物中,彭玉麟以辞官闻名。本文从彭玉麟加入湘军之前、加入湘军期间、太平天国被镇压后、晚年等四个不同时期来考察,综合他历次辞官的原因,不外乎三个因素:其一,才力;其二,清誉;其三,健康。彭玉麟屡辞官职是出于对自己才力、清誉、健康的清醒认识,更是他为人朴实正直、性情落寞的必然结果。与其他人辞官不同,彭玉麟未就职而先辞,这就彰显了他辞官的意义:实事求是地评价自己,慎重其事地对待职责。
In the characters in the late Qing dynasty, Peng Yu-lin is well known for his resignation. The paper discussed from four different periods about Peng Yu-lin, before joining the Hunan army, in the Hunan army, after the repression of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and his late years. There is nothing more than three factors integrated the reasons of his previous resigning. They are his gumption, his no seeking for reputation and his health. Peng Yu-lin resigned many times because he had a very clear awareness of his gumption, his no seeking for reputation and his health. It is the inevitable result of his guileless honesty and temperamental loneliness. His resigning is different from others. He resigned before inauguration, which showed the sig- nificance of his resignation： seeking truth from facts to evaluate oneself and meticulous about the responsibilities,
