Objective To investigate the relationship between serum uric acid levels, drinking and the occurrence of Parkinson's disease. Methods A retrospective study was carried out, one-hundred and twenty-eight cases of patients with parkinson's disease in our hospital from January, 2013 to December 2015 were selected as the study group, and 117 cases of health subjects at the same term were enrolled as the control group. The risk factors for parkinson disease were analyzed. Results Elevating serum uric acid levels reduced the risk of Parkinson's disease (OR=0.38, 95%CI: 0.26-0.61), and this correlation still existed when the people were grouped and analyzed by sex. In no drinking people, the elevation of serum uric acid levels reduced the risk of parkinson's disease (OR=0.43, 95%CI: 0.36-0.75). Conclusion High uric acid levels can reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease, drinking may affect its protective effect on the disease of Parkinson.
