High power fiber lasers for fiber Raman amplifiers are reviewed. The working principle and the key techniques for double-clad fiberlasers are analyzed in detail, the latest progress in double-clad fiber laser pumped cascade Raman fiber lasers are described, and the develop-ment trend in this area is prospected.
