Quadratic Gauss Sums and Number of Solutions of Equations over Finite Fields

摘要 设f∈F_q[x_1,…,x_n]是一个n元多项式,其中F_q为q元有限域.用N(f)表示方程f=0在F_q^n中解的个数.寻找N(f)的表达式在有限域研究中具有重要意义.利用二次特征与二次高斯和,给出了有限域上一类方程的解数公式. Let f∈Fq[x1,…,Xn] be a polynomial in n variables, where Fa is a finite field of q elements. Denote by N(f) the number of solutions of the equation f = 0 in Fqn. It is of significant importance in the research of finite fields to find the explicit formula for N(f). In this paper, we use quadratic characters and quadratic Gauss sums to obtain the formula for the number of solutions of a class of equations over finite fields.
