Objective To study the present status of medical coping mode for parents of pediatrics asthma outpatients. Method Investigate 257 parents of pediatrics asthma outpatients by general information questionnaire and medical coping mode questionnaire. Analyze the result. Result Score on dimensions of facing mode and yielding mode for parents are (21.22±3. 45) and (9. 50±1.75), which are all higher than norm. The difference is significant. There is no significant difference on scoi'e of avoiding mode dirdension compared, to the norm. There is significant difference on score of yielding mode dimension between male and female parents. Compare factors of age, relations.hip with children and education level to each other after variance analysis by SLD, difference on scores between grandparents group and other groups in avoiding mode dimension, between junior high school and below group and junior college and above group in facing mode dimension and between junior high school and below group and junior college and above group in yielding mode dimension are significant. Multiple linear regressions shows that effect of education level on facing mode dimension and effect of gender on yielding mode dimension have statistical significance. Conclusion Parents of children with asthma can face the disease but usually coping with yielding. Education level is the influencing factor of facing mode dimension and gender is the influencing factor of yielding mode dimension.
