摘要
英国小说家丹尼尔·笛福的小说《摩尔·弗兰德斯》中,女主人公摩尔对自己生活经历的叙述侧重于空间场景而非时间线索,摩尔对空间的把控是保证其生存和自由的决定性因素。通过对构成社会空间的多重要素的解读和利用,摩尔重新构建和定义有利于自己的生活空间,使得女性从被男权社会束缚到获得掌握自身命运的自由成为可能。小说展示了主人公的空间意识、对空间的利用和通过空间获得救赎的历程,展现了空间对时间的对抗甚至消解。
Moll Flanders,written by British novelist Daniel Defoe,structures its narration of the life ex-perience of the heroine according to spatial scenes rather than temporal sequence. Moll’s control over space is the determining factor of her survival and freedom. By correctly reading and using the multiple dimensions of social space,Moll constructs and redefines a living space of her own,so that it is possible for her to break a-way from the restraints of the patriarchal society and gain the freedom to control her own life. The novel dis-plays the protagonist’s spatial consciousness, appropriation of space, and redemption through space, all of which are also her resistance to and erasure of time.
