浅谈普通高校英语专业学生人文素质困境与对策

摘要 现在普通高校英语专业学生缺乏人文素质已经成为一种普遍现象。人文教育是教人如何为人的教育,通过人文教育使学生树立正确的人生观和价值观,树立远大的理想,利用自身的才能为社会和国家做出贡献,因此人文教育在各项教育中占有重要的地位。英语作为国际通用语言,蕴含着深厚的人文内涵,高校在开展英语专业教育的同时,要注重与人文素质教育相结合,转变目前人文教育与学科教育脱离的窘境。 It is a common phenomenon that English majors in ordinary universities are lack of humanistic quality nowadays. The humani- ty education is the education of teaching a person how to be a person. The humanity education makes students set up correct concepts of life and values, build up lofty ideals and use their own abilities to contribute to the country and the society. Therefore, humanity educa- tion plays an important role in various education. As an international language, English contains fruitful connotation of humanities. So ordinary universities should pay much attention to combine professional education with humanity education among English majors and change the awkward situation which is resulted from the disconnection between humanity education and discipline education.
