评论者对《拉帕其尼医生的女儿》中拉帕其尼的看法呈两极化,充分说明了人物的复杂性。要更好地理解这个人物可以从剖析他与其他人物之间的权力关系着手。拉帕其尼为了进一步获取科学知识粗暴地干涉碧阿蒂斯和乔万尼的身体,遭遇到两人激烈的反抗。此外,他受制于自身的权力欲望和知识场域中的权力机制。在内外夹击之下,他的客体性凸显出来。
Many critics have two extreme opinions upon＂Rappaccini’s Daughter＂,which reflects the complexity of the character. A better understanding of this figure requires toanalyze the power relation between the hero and other figures. Rappaccini made use of oreother people’s bodies to explore knowledge but they resisted furiously. He was also constraint by his own desire for power and the power system of the knowledge domain. In the middle of interior and exterior factors,the objectivity is prominent.
