The custom of Taqi refers to a series of amusement activities, which is held by the residents of Three Gorges region on the seventh day after spring festival, which is also called "ren ri ", to commemorate Zhuge liang the master. This custom had reached its zenith in Tang and Song dynasties, but gradually changed from mid Qing dynasty till its disappearance. The main reason is that the three gorges region was devastated in the late Ming dynasty, after which local residents died in large quantities. Later, immigrants' emotion to zhuge liang were not as strong as it was originally to ancestors so that they are not ready to inherit the custom of Taqi. As a kind of social traditions, culture changes with historical environment, human beings are always the most important carrier of culture.
