Computer LAN is the basis to realize automatic management for railway basic divisions and it can help to improve the working efficiency and the service quality of both passenger and freight. So the system design shall follow the principles of reliable, practicable, scientific, adaptable and expandable. Since the launching of freight yard comprehensive automation on 1st September 2001 in Yanzhou station, a good social and economic benefit has been obtained.
