摘要
《礼记·乐记》的主旨是阐释礼乐教化的合法性。《乐记》给出了礼乐教化具有合法性的三重立论根据:其一,"人心"感于物形成音乐,人心是音乐和外物之间的中介,因而通过音乐就可以很好地协调外物与人心之间的关系,从而达到社会和谐的目的;其二,《乐记》将音乐的产生、音乐与人的关系,纳入到天地宇宙的运行模式之中,认为天地运行具有无可违抗的性质,遵循天地精神的礼乐也具有无可违抗的性质;其三,音乐与社会人生之间有着神秘的感应关系,因而音乐具有协调社会秩序的作用。三重立论依据共存,体现了《乐记》文化整合的时代意识,体现了《乐记》音乐美学思想的丰富性,但也是形成《乐记》内在逻辑关系不够清晰的原因。
"Treatise on Music"offers three arguments for the legitimacy of implementing moral education with music.First,music derives from human sensation of all substances and can negotiate the relationship between subjective feeling and external substances,which will result in social harmony.Second,the creation of music and its relationship with human being conform to the operating mode of cosmos.If the latter is inviolable,music should also be inviolable.Third,there exists a mysterious echoing relation between music and human society and,therefore,music can play a role in coordinating social order.The co-occurrence of these three arguments embodies the awareness of cultural integration in the ancient times and also the richness of"Treatise on Music"in music aesthetics.But it also leads to the unclear internal logics of"Treatise on Music."
