In recent years, the theory of Jingjin has been paid more and more attention by clinical and scientific researchers. Although the academia has gradually unified the understanding of Jingjin, the essence of Jingjin is still unclear. In this case, the modern research on Jingjin is not helpful to promote the development of Jingjin theory in essence. By analyzing the meaning of Jingjin, this paper fully discusses the conceptual differences and relations among Jingjin, Jing and Jin, and points out that the fuzzy understanding among them is the basic reason for the vague understanding of the orientation of Jingjin in modern research. Based on the summary of the articles of Jingjin in Lingshu, it is pointed out that Jingjin is a kind of important human body structure discovered by ancient Chinese physicians under visual anatomy. Its overall shape is similar to that of veins, but its local character is like a bundle of tendons in texture and appearance. By analyzing the definition and characteristics of Jingjin, we can clearly understand the concept of Jingjin and correctly look at the causes of misunderstanding of Jingjin in current academic circles. Only by understanding the shape and function of Jingjin, can we accurately locate the body structure of modern medicine and practically develop traditional theory and guide modern clinical practice according to the inherent thinking advantages of traditional Chinese medicine.
