摘要
《眷恋》是英国小说家保罗.司各特最后一部小说,荣获了1977年布克文学奖。小说取材于七十年代,它的价值在于艺术地反思了殖民时期的英印关系对后殖民时期的影响。通过小说中的几个人物,巧妙地体现出这种关系的矛盾冲突。本文借用后殖民主义理论家霍米·巴巴的模拟与杂糅的概念,对这部小说的模拟做了后殖民主义理论意义上的解读,提出东西方文化模拟杂糅的现象和问题。
＂ Staying on＂ is the last novel of British novelist Paul Scott,which won the Booker Prize in 1977. The setting of the novel is in the seventy＇s,whose value lies in that the novel reflects the influence of relationship between British and India in postcolonial ages from the relationship between British and India in colonial ages. The novel reflects the relationship of contradiction through several characters cleverly. Based on the concepts of Homi K. Bhabha＇s mimicry and hybridity from postcolonial theory,this paper uses mimicry to do a post- colonial reading of ＂ Staying on＂ and then proposes some phenomena and problems about east- west culture.
