摘要
Parents who lost their only child suffer a lot in mind, body and spirit, and thus are extremely fragile. Fromthe perspective of spiritual social work, everyone is supposed to have the ability to achieve self-transcendence and selfchange.Heavily stricken by the loss of the child, these parents may slightly deviate from their normal thinking logic ratio-nally and perceptually, but their spiritual power will unconsciously build up self-defense mechanisms to overcome crisisand difficulties. In their everyday life, these mechanisms are reflected in their organized groups and individual empower-ment. Gradually those who lost their only child will strengthen their ability to confront the adverse situation through activeorganization to"hold together for warmth"and passive empowerment to"improve themselves",and eventually go out ofthe sadness. In the end, they will set their hearts at rest and on the realities they may face for the rest of their lives.
