Robert Hayden＇s poem ＂Those Winter Sundays＂is short and profound. Based on the theories of narratology and stylistics, an＂overall close reading＂of the text and cultural context is made. The narrative strategies including point of view and implied author as well as the stylistic features in phonology, lexicon, syntax, all contribute to the primary meaning and the deep meaning of fatherhood and faithfulness.
