摘要
The paper focuses on the enhancements needed in traffic simulation models to properly assess vehicle energy consumption and CO2 emissions when innovative ICT (information and communication technology) systems are implemented. Examples of these are the eco-driving applications. The implementations of certain ICT systems not only affect the overall traffic performance but also influence the vehicle dynamic and/or driver's attitude. This leads to different results in terms of energy consumption depending on the way in which the differences in behaviour have been modelled. The study provides analysis on the vehicle/driver behaviour which has led to some refinements of the car-following mathematical models.
