In August through October 2000 and the summer 2001, Liaoning Relics and Archaeology and other institutions conducted excavations to Provincial Institute the Dong Dazhangzi of Cultural Cemetery, and recovered 15 burials and unearthed about 150 pieces (or sets) of grave goods. The unearthed grave goods were mostly bronzes, followed by pottery wares, jades and stone implements, etc. By usage, they could be classified into vessels, weapons, chariot and horse fittings, etc. The general nature of these burials would belong to the typical archaeological culture of the Bronze Age in the northern frontier zone, or the so-called "bronze dagger burials" . The unearthed artifacts showed that the date of these burials was the early Warring-States Period. The excavations provided new materials for the researches on the interrelationships among the bronze cultures in the western Liaoning and the communications a- mong them and the Yan Culture of the Central Plains system.
