摘要
光纤通道(Fibre Channel,简称FC)是一种为网络系统设计的接口技术,随着网络互联的发展,大量的图像、信号、音视频内容需要通过可靠的数据网络通信系统来快速、高效、稳定的传输,为满足这种需求,提出基于FPGA的光纤通道HBA卡(Host Bus Adapter,主机总线适配器)设计方案。该方案以Xilinx的KC705开发板为平台,参考FC协议实现了其中的FC-1,FC-2层,实现普通帧和ASM帧的快速收发。同时设计了PCIe多通道DMA控制器,使处理器通过该控制器高效访问FC网络,在2.125G的链路带宽中,有效传输速率可达1.92Gb/s。方案给出了硬件结构图以及关键部分设计思想,并采用逻辑仿真和物理测试证明该设计的正确性与有效性。
Fibre channel is one kind of interface technologies designed for network system,with the development of network storage technologies,a great amount of images,signals,audio and video contents require a fast,highly-efficient and stable transfer through a reliable data network communication system.To meet this demand,the paper proposes the design of a PCIe fiber channel HBA based on FPGA. With the platform being Xilinx KC705 development board and FC PCIe as the protocols,a FC MAC core and a PCIe multi-channel DMA controller are designed,through which the processors can visit FC network efficiently,and ultimately the FC and ASM framing can be transferred in a high speed. a 1.92 Gbps FC HBA card was implemented which’s link bandwidth was 2.125 Gbps. The proposal presents the hardware architecture and some key parts’ design idea. The method is proved valid and effective by the logic simulations and physical tests.
