摘要
借用学界关于达·芬奇译名的论辩为引子,概略探讨文化相对主义和历史相对主义的策略介入后,翻译批评所应呈现出的兼容并蓄、参差多样的理想形态,同时也指出了目前以语言学批评为主流的翻译批评现实的成因与存在的合理性。除了分析现存的翻译批评格局,这一描写性比照研究的用意也在于思考国内翻译批评实践拓展的可能。
When socio -cultural and historical concerns are integrated into the spectrum of translation criticism, both the very practice of TY analysis/appraisal and the speculative thinking into the rationale of this discipline shall assume a new and more lenient looks or posture. However, in contrast to the ever increasing momentum of a cultural studies approach to translatology, the majority of fieldwork in translation criticism remains in the pigeonhole of linguistic evaluation or rectification of translated texts. Prompted by a critique of the Chinese version of Leonardo da Vinci's name, this descriptive study on the ideality and reality in the sphere of translation criticism attempts to sketch the status - quo scenario and ponder over the possibility of more diversified patterns in this academic engagement.
