摘要
国际经济交流对法律英语人才提出了迫切的要求,但法律英语教什么、怎么教,仍然没有得到很好的回答,仍然没有统一的大纲可循。鉴于专门语料库在语言教学中的作用,本文参照语料库语言学建库原则,以及专门用途语料库建库指南,探讨了法律英语语料库的设计,及其在法律英语教学中的潜在应用。法律英语语料库,作为专门用途语料库,也需遵循针对性、代表性、均衡性原则,只是其代表性和均衡性,是通过体裁范围和术语"饱和度"来体现,而不是通过文本抽样来体现。法律英语语料库研制的意义在于,其对法律英语词汇大纲制定、对法律英语教什么、怎么教也会提供部分答案。
International business and trade have given rise to an urgent demand for talents who are good at law and legal English as well.However,what to teach and how to teach legal English are still not well explored in China.There is still no unified syllabus to follow.Considering the role of specialized corpus in language teaching,this paper attempts to design a legal English Corpus with insights from principles of corpus linguistics and from guidelines of specialized corpus designing,and to explore its potentials in legal English teaching.The designing of such specialized corpus also needs to follow the principles of relevance,representativeness and balance.However,the measurement of representativeness and balance of this specialized corpus is not through sampling from a range of genres,but through the range itself and the ＂saturation＂ terms.Such a legal English corpus is most useful in building a glossary,and can also provide some answers to what to teach and how to teach.
