"Transmission" refers to one literature recording form transforming to another form, including one piece of literature transforming to another piece in the same form. The literature' s forms of transmission are determining whether they can be circulated and how lang they will be. The transmission forms of Chinese medical classics are mainly oral instruction, transcription, printing, engraving and so on. The oral form of medical materials can directly affect their understanding by the sounds only and they are easily forgotten, mistaken and lost. The transcribing form can hardly keep the same as the original piece and transcribe only one piece once. As an unprecedentedly condition, printing is making a great contribution to the medical books' transmission, but many literature can not be published for its complicate process and high costs. Otherwise, engraving is a kind of special and complement form for the transmission of medical classics.
