Objective: To study the clinical effect of Chinese herbal medicine decoction enema com- bined with antibiotics in the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. Methods: Fifty-six patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease were randomly divided into obser- vation group and control group, with 28 cases in each. The patients in observation group were given Chinese herbal medicine decoction enema combined with antibiotics, while the patients in the control group received antibiotics only. The levels of IL-2 and CRP, clinical effects, the incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of observation group (92.86%) was higher than that in the control group (71.43%) P 〈0.05. Re- currence rate of observation group (7.14%) was lower than that in the control group (28.57%), P 〈 0.05. There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P 〉 0.05 ). After treatment, the level of IL-2 increased in the two groups while the CRP level de- creased. Compared with control group, the changes of IL-2 and CRP levels in observation group were more obvious (P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion: Chinese herbal medicine decoction enema combined with an- tibiotics in treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease have remarkable clinical effects, and is worthy of promotion.
