When I was a young boy in school, I used to daydream about different lands, different countries, different lives from my own. I imagined such faraway and unusually named countries as h'aq, Afghanistan and Ethiopia to name a few. But none held the same fascination for me as China. Just the name was magical, a promise of literally the other side of the world, the opposite of what I was familiar with ... a place of mystery and enchantment.
