摘要
英汉情态动词分别是这两种语言表达情态的主要手段。根据Palmer和Lyons的情态意义理论,对比分析英汉情态动词在语义和情态意义上的共性和个性特征,以利于在英语教学中引导学生准确把握其语义和情态意义,提高学生语言交际的能力。
English and Chinese modal verbs play important roles in expressing different modalities in both languages .According to Palmer and Lyons'theory on modal verbs ,a comparative study of English and Chinese modal verbs to analyze their similarities and differences was carried out , so as to guide the students to master them and improve their ability in language communication .
