摘要
基于对现已出版的英汉专科词典功能和当前术语误译现状的调研,本文认为:术语翻译析误匡谬应成为英汉专科词典一项不可或缺的功能,是今后英汉专科词典进行编纂创新、服务读者的一个重要方向。此外,本文还依据《英汉钢铁冶金技术详解词典》的编纂简述了英汉专科词典术语翻译析误匡谬信息的编写要点。
After investigating functions of published English-Chinese dictionaries for specialty terms, and fol- lowing a survey of common mistranslations, this paper holds that one key function of such dictionaries should be rectifying of mistranslated terms. In addition, this paper discusses, by the example of A Comprehensive English- Chinese Dictionary of Iron and Steel Metallurgy, how mistranslated terms may be rectified.
