本文介绍了《I-语言:作为认知科学的语言学概论》(第二版)一书的主要内容,包括"I-语言"的基本概念,I-语言的语言学表征及其运算方式以及语言与哲学的相关问题等。本书紧跟乔姆斯基的生成语法及生物语言学思想,探讨了语言学研究与认知科学及心智哲学的相关影响与渗透。最后,本文对该书的特色,包括主旨思想(生物语言学)写作技巧以及意义进行简评,并对第二版中所做的更新和修订进行了说明。
This paper makes a brief review of the book I- Language ＇An Introduction to Linguistics as Cognitive Science （Second Edition）, including the concepts of I-language, its linguistic representation and computation and the issues with philosophy. This textbook offers an introduction to modem linguistic theory from a biolinguistic perspective inspired and led by Noam Chomsky and explores how modem linguistics relates to and is informed by work in other fields of cognitive science and philosophy of mind. Comments on the characteristics and the significance of the book are presented, and the updates and revisions made to the Second Edition are described as well.
