摘要
明清之际，太仓画家辈出，逐步形成了以王时敏为首的“四王画”。“四王”是人们对清初王时敏、王鉴、王犟、王原祁四位山水画家的合称，又称“江左四王”。并与吴历、恽寿平两人合称清初画坛“六大家”。四位画家彼此有宗族和师生的关系：王时敏与王鉴同族；王犟则曾先后师从王鉴与王时敏；王原祁则为王时敏之孙。
