摘要
日本私立图书馆的发展经历了漫长的散发阶段、快速发展阶段,发展到了缩减阶段。国内的研究普遍认为,日本私立图书馆这一发展过程是一个被公立图书馆"取代"的过程。为了更加深入地了解日本私立图书馆的现状,通过访问现存的半数私立图书馆的网站,对其办馆理念、服务对象和馆藏特色三方面进行调查。认为其明确的办馆理念促成其建立了独具特色的馆藏,并确定了其服务于明确的对象和有针对性的信息需求。这三点的相互作用保证了其社会职能的实现,从而使这些私立图书馆在缩减的大趋势下得以存续,并成为公立图书馆的有力补充。
The history of private libraries in Japan can be divided into the long embryonic stage, the fast developing stage and the current shrinking stage. It is generally believed that the history of Japanese private library was just a process being replaced by the public library according to the studies in China. This paper did an investigation on half of the private libraries in Japan for their situation, including management ideologies, service objects and collection characteristics. It is the clear management ideology that brings about a unique collection and determines clear service objects and information demand. Those three points ensure the social role of the private libraries, which subsist in regression background and become the supplement of the public libraries.
