摘要
小说《子夜》以独特的艺术创作手法,深入细致地描绘了20世纪30年代上海物质繁荣和都市奢靡生活的表象,刻画了以吴荪甫为代表的民族资本家及一批小资产阶级分子心灵的迷失、苦闷和彷徨。作品所传递的浓郁的颓废气息和色彩,根源于现代西方工业文明对中国传统道德的消解,是茅盾关于都市生活的真实经验和思想的结晶,体现出作者独特的艺术审美风格。
The novel "Midnight"depicts in a unique artistic way the material prosperity and decadent urban life of Shanghai in the 1930 s,with Wu Sunfu as a representative of capitalists and petty traders who were mentally lost,frustrated and puzzled. It is argued that the decadent life was a consequence of modern western industrial civilization working on Chinese ethics,and that the depiction,rendered by Mao Dun,a famous Chinese writer,is a crystallization of real experiences and thoughts,reflecting the writer's unique aesthetic style.
