在居延汉简的175位公乘中,有年龄记载的94人,占总人数的53.7%,平均年龄约为35岁。年龄最小的公乘18岁,最大的69岁。有三位不满23岁的公乘服役,超过56岁仍在服役的公乘有四位,二者相加,占比7.4%。可见,汉代戍边吏卒不足龄和超龄服役的情况并不鲜见,既有居延本地人,也有外地人。
Among the 175 civil servants in Juyan bamboo slips, 94 of them have their age recorded, which accounts for 53.7%, whose age averages 35. The minimum age is 18, while the maximum age is 69. There are three who are under 23 years of age. There are four who are over the age of 56. The two combined equals seven accounting for 7.4%. Hence, it is not rare to see those who serve in the border areas under or over age, including the local people of Juyan and non-native people.
