摘要
《汉书·匈奴传》所载冒顿向吕后请婚被视为汉匈关系中极为典型之事,而《史记》中却不载此事。前人多认为司马迁出于政治"忌讳"不载此事,东汉时班固不再"忌讳",因而在《汉书》中重新记载此事。这种解释虽有合理之处,但也存在一些疑问。从《汉书》增补内容的疑点以及匈奴对汉朝社会的影响来看,冒顿请婚一事应为谣言。谣言约产生于太初四年之后,为司马迁所未见,故《史记》不载。东汉初年,由于汉匈关系再度紧张,冒顿请婚之事重新被勾起或被创作出来,又为班固所见,从而被载入《汉书》之中。谣言虽然不可信,却反应了时人恐惧匈奴、憎恨匈奴、希望德化匈奴以及不满吕后女主干政等社会情境。
In the record of the Huns Biography in the Hanshu（ 《汉书》）,Modu（ 冒顿） made a proposal to the Empress Lü（ 吕后） which has been regarded as the typical example in the relationship between Han Dynasty and Huns. However,the account for this historical event can not be found in Shiji（ 《史记》）.To explain this phenomenon,most historians believe that due to political taboo,SIMA Qian didn＇t mention it,and BAN Gu in Eastern Han Dynasty didn＇t taboo any longer. Although it is reasonable,there are also some doubtful points. With the combination of the doubtful point supplemented in the History of Han,the influence of Huns to the society of Han Dynasty,this paper speculates that Modu＇s proposal to Empress Lü is a rumor which started after the fourth year of Tai Chu（ 101 B. C.） when Sima Qian had died,so he could not record that.
