摘要
在急速发展的当代中国,城市的传统与历史被置于何种地位?在传统与现代的框架中,选取北京作为案例,通过北京与巴黎、东京的比较,探讨传统城市社会/社区类型在中国近现代史上的发展过程以及它与城市现代化互动过程中的"关系性"问题和在当前中国城市现代化进程中的"未来可能性"问题。对比一些特定的国外城市,中国的传统城市形态在城市发展和更新的过程中,逐步被现代城市空间所替代直至消失。除非城市的传统空间能适应商业开发和现代更新的要求,否则,中国的传统城市形态将被新型城市空间所取代。
In the rapid development of the contemporary China,what is the position of the city’s tradition and history? This paper studies the city changes in the framework of the tradition-modernity, taking Beijing as an example, through the comparison between Beijing, Paris, and Tokyo. It focuses on the changes of the traditional urban communities in the modern history of China, the relationship between Chinese traditional urban communities and the modernization process and their “future possibilities” in the current process of city modernization in China. Compared with some particular foreign cities, the traditional city appearance in China replaced by the modern urban space,is gradually fading away. Unless the traditional space in cities would adapt itself to the demand of the commercial development and modernization renewing, or it will be replaced by the new type of the urban space.
