Mycoplasmas are those microorganisms that inhabit human cells and tissues, and cause some kinds of dis- eases. This study investigated the effects of Mycoplasma fermentans glycosyhransferase on mammalian cell lines by tests of cell proliferation, adhesion, anti-starvation, anti-oxidization and the assays of Western blot. The results in- dicate that mycoplasmal glycosyltransferase has no apparent effect on cell proliferation, but inhibits cell adhesion and anti-oxidization ability, and promotes the cellular ability of anti-starvation. This study is helpful for people to understand deeply the cellular and molecular mechanisms of diseases caused by mycoplasmas.
