With regard to the Liao EmperorDaozong's reign title of"Shoulong(壽隆)"recorded in the Liao Shi(《遼史》),scholars since QianDaxin had already affirmed that it was a mistake from the genuine reign title of"Shouchang(壽昌)",but didn't know why. This paper finds that the different recordation of"Shoulong"and"Shouchang"in the documentation was not a simple yes or no question. It involved an unbeknown naming taboo of"Shouchang"existing in the Jin Dynasty. This discovery not only adds a new example to the naming taboo during Jurchen's reign, but also gives us a crucial key to solve the difficult problem why the reign title of"Shoulong"were written in the Liao Shi.
