摘要
原型批评试图发现文学作品中出现的各种叙事结构、意象、象征和人物类型,找出它们背后的基本形式及原型,并把各种原型应用于文学作品的分析和评价中。福克纳的创作深受基督教文化的影响,在他的作品《押沙龙!押沙龙》中可以发现基督教原型。小说以圣经故事中人物为参照,探讨美国南方历史罪责与无辜者所受到的痛苦。
Archetype criticism attempts to discover narrative structure , image, symbolism and characters in lit-erature works and finds their fundamental types and modes .As Faulkner＇s works were deeply influenced by Christianity, biblical archetype can be found in his Absalom! Absalom .By comparison with the characters in bible stories , Faulkner explored the miserable affairs of historical condemn in American south .
