摘要
在跨文化交际活动中,礼貌用语无疑有助于增进人际交往,构建和谐的社会关系。但不同语言和文化的国度有不同的礼貌表达方式,深刻理解中英文礼貌用语的差异及其渊源,有利于交际双方增进文化交流,提高跨文化交际能力,保证跨文化交际的顺利进行。本文回顾并总结了中西方学者在有关跨文化交际中所用礼貌用语的理论研究方面已取得的成果,就如何在跨文化交际中使用中英文问候语、告别语、恭维语以及致谢语做了表达方式上的对比研究,并分析了这些差异存在的根源。
In intercultural communication,the politeness formulae will serve to establish and maintain harmonious social relationships. Intercultural communication always benefits from a better understanding of the differences between Chinese and Western politeness formulae and the origins,which take advantage of enhancing communication among nations and developing skills in intercultural communication. This paper is to review the theories of politeness that have been proposed by scholars from home and abroad and to identify the differences in terms of greeting,leave-taking,complimenting and thanking through contrastive analysis and explain their origins.
