The Tongbomiao Formation is the first group of reservoirs in the Lower Cretaceous of the Tanan Sag, whose majority is, lithologically, sandy conglomerate, tuff and sandstone. This paper introduces the petrology, fragmental components and interstitial materials of the No.1 and No.2 Oil Layers (sandstones), and points out the pore types being mainly intergranular pore and inner-granular solution opening. The physical property of the reservoir is, principally, extra-lower porosity and super-lower permeability. The reservoir's physical property is mainly influenced by the sedimentary facies, the sandstone of deltaic inner front having the best property. Secondly, it is affected by the buried depth, the property being worse with the depth becoming larger. Thirdly, the physical property is inversely proportional to the contents of clay minerals. In addition, the porosity- and permeability-related cements are formed in post-diagenetic period. The reservoir's throat is, commonly, finer one, and subordinately, fine and micro-fine throats. The reservoir's void is, commonly, extra-small one, and subordinately, small and middle voids. Based on what mentioned above, the reservoir's micro-texture can be divided into five types. The reservoir's thickness of the Tongbomiao Formation is larger near the source regions. Correspondingly, the physical property is relatively better for the sandstones which are distributed along the NE-orientated basin-(depression-) controlling faults linearly. Towards the sag's center, the property becomes worse with the buried depth being larger.
