摘要
《二十世纪中国文学史论》的编选以现代性为线索,符合20世纪中国文学追求现代性的历史任务。同时,追求现代性意味着文学必须对时代作出回应。尽管这样会使文学及其研究难逃实用目的,但以现代性的核心——理性精神来回应时代不同于以往政治实用论。《二十世纪中国文学史论》以回应时代为灵魂,以现代性为线索,在论文集的编选上达到了形神兼备,成为论文集编选的学术规范典范。
＂20^th Century Chinese Literature History＂is compiled with the clue of modernity,which meets the requirement of the historical task for 20^th century Chinese literature to pursue modernity. The pursuit of modernity means to response to the age. Although this may lead to pragmatism,it differs from political pragmatism to reply to the age with the core of modernity（ the rational spirit）. This book,with the soul of responding to the age,and modernity as clue,is well selected and edited.
