摘要
京师同文馆创办伊始即延聘汉洋教习入馆。他们不仅承担教学及管理工作,还开设了汉文及西方自然和人文社科课程。从教育背景、社会经历、工作态度、人才培养、教育成效等方面考察,多数教习具有较高的近代文化素养和专业能力,对中国近代教育事业乃至中国近代化作出了贡献。
The Imperial Translators' College recruited Chinese and foreign professors at the very beginning of its establishment. The professors were not only engaged in teaching and management but also offered instruction in Chinese and Western natural and social sciences. Judged from such perspectives as educational backgrounds,social experiences,working attitudes,personnel training and educational effects,most professors boasted better cultural attainments and professional abilities,thereby having contributed to modern China's educational cause as well as China's modernization.
