摘要
二十世纪小说家贝内特通过从社会、家庭和现实的错综复杂的描写中捕捉人物细节,在小说中成功地塑造了一群两极化女性形象。本文以贝内特的小说《老妇谭》为例探讨和分析了性格截然不同的两位女性人物不同的人生经历,揭示了当时社会中妇女的社会、经济和思想状况。
The novelist Arnold Bennett of 20 th century successfully created some female characters of polarization in his novels by describing characters＇ details with the discription of society,family and reality. This article takes his novel The Old Wives＇ Tale as an example to explore and analyze the different life experiences of two females with distinct characters,and reveal women＇s social,economic and ideological conditions at that time.
