在结构主义者那里,“总问题”和“思想结构”是可以互换的两个概念。阿尔杜塞用“总问题”表示概念框架的理论结构,它决定所有问题的安排形式以及哪些东西被看做是与问题有关的。列维-施特劳斯的总问题框架或思想结构是一个特殊看世界的方式。两人在一般认识论和方法论上是相同的,在哲学本体论、理论及研究领域上明显不同。
The terms 'problematic' and 'thought structure' are two interchangeable concepts in structuralism which denote the system of concepts through which particular terms become meaningful and in terms of which concrete texts may be examined. Althusser means by the term 'problematic' a defined theoretical structure of conceptual framework which determines the forms of the posing of all problems and what is seen as relevant to the problem. In Levi-strauss's view, a problematic or a thought structure is a particular way of looking at the world. They are similar at the level of method and epistemology, but obviously different in philosophy, theory and field of study.
